In December 2024, the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) Qatar Chapter undertook several significant activities, reflecting its commitment to professional development, community engagement, and cultural celebration.
The month commenced with a Final Dry Run on December 2, 2024, at Abesq Hotel, Doha, in preparation for the upcoming 4th General Membership Meeting (GMM) and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Seminar. This meeting ensured a seamless execution by reviewing program flow, technical aspects, and logistics to guarantee a successful event.
On December 6, 2024, the chapter hosted its 4th General Membership Meeting, CPD Seminar, and Year-End Thanksgiving Celebration at the Abesq Doha Hotel. This event gathered architects and professionals for a day of insightful discussions on topics such as the impact of Filipino architects in multicultural design projects, sustainable architecture in the Gulf region, and UAP Qatar's role in shaping the future of architecture. The celebration concluded with a dinner, entertainment, and awards, recognizing the chapter’s achievements.
Continuing its participation in the professional community, the UAP Qatar Chapter attended the PPOQ Gala Night and Turnover Ceremony on December 13, 2024, at the Holiday Villa Hotel. This event celebrated the achievements of the Philippine Professionals Organization in Qatar and marked a transition in leadership.
On December 20, 2024, the chapter demonstrated its commitment to aspiring architects through the UAP Review Assistance program at The Hub, Royal Plaza, Doha. This initiative provided support for architecture graduates preparing for their licensure exams, showcasing the chapter’s role as a mentor to future professionals.
The month culminated with the 9th BOD Meeting on December 22, 2024, held via Zoom. This year-end meeting allowed members to reflect on the past year's achievements, plan future events, and strengthen community bonds.
