In May 2025, the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) Qatar Chapter carried out a month filled with purposeful initiatives focused on professional development, examination readiness, and community engagement. The month began with two Pre-Board Examinations held on May 1 and May 9 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Doha, aimed at preparing aspiring architects for the upcoming Special Professional Licensure Examination (SPLE) in June. With 25 participants in each session, the simulations provided a realistic testing environment and valuable mentoring from experienced professionals. On the same day, May 1, UAP Qatar members also participated in the Philippine Professional Organization–Qatar (PPOQ)’s Financial Literacy and Government Program Orientation at the MWO Facility, where Labor Attaché Atty. Eduard Ferrer and OWWA Welfare Officer Luzminda Tumaliuan delivered insights on managing finances and accessing services for OFWs.
Continuing its collaborative efforts, UAP Qatar joined the PPOQ 5th Monthly Meeting on May 5 at The Hub, Royal Plaza, to finalize SPLE logistics and support for examinees. Preparations for the chapter’s upcoming events also took shape with a venue inspection at QR Eagle’s Nest in Ar Rayyan on May 9, ensuring all arrangements were in place for the next General Membership Meeting. On May 10, Chapter President Ar. Jayson Santos represented UAP Qatar during the UAP District 6 Meeting held via Zoom, where updates on training programs and community initiatives were shared among chapters to reinforce regional coordination.
The chapter’s 10th General Membership Meeting, themed “Technology Transfer 4,” was successfully held on May 23 at QR Eagle’s Nest, Al Rayyan, with practical sessions led by Ar. Dawn Rosario Bown and Ar. Nikita Eufe Ual. Ar. Bown demonstrated efficient use of Excel and Mailchimp for data and workflow management, while Ar. Ual explored creative visual communication using Canva—tools that empower architects to elevate their professional presentations. On May 26, UAP Qatar once again joined the PPOQ in a meeting focused on the final preparations for the SPLE and the coordination of PRC delegates' arrival in Doha, reaffirming its commitment to supporting national licensure processes abroad.
The month concluded with the Board of Directors’ regular meeting on May 31 via Zoom, covering final event planning, membership campaigns, SPLE assistance, and coordination for upcoming activities such as the Independence Day celebration, Sports Fest, and the Turnover Induction Ceremony. UAP Qatar also tackled operational matters and internal development programs, highlighting the chapter’s continued pursuit of excellence and unity. With gratitude extended to all partners, speakers, and sponsors, UAP Qatar celebrates another productive month of service and empowerment for the Filipino architectural community in Qatar.
