UAP Qatar reaffirmed its commitment to empowering Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) by actively participating in a crucial Financial Literacy Training designed to equip Filipinos abroad with the knowledge and tools necessary for financial independence. The event served as a platform to educate attendees on essential topics such as saving, budgeting, and investing—foundational steps toward achieving long-term financial stability.
The training also featured an overview of the programs and services provided by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA). These initiatives aim to ensure that OFWs are well-informed about the government support systems available to them both while working overseas and upon returning to the Philippines.
Distinguished guests Labor Attaché Eduard C. Ferrer and Welfare Officer Luzviminda C. Tumaliuan lent their insights to the event, underscoring the importance of financial education as a cornerstone of successful reintegration for OFWs. Their presence highlighted the government's ongoing commitment to safeguarding the welfare of Filipino workers abroad.
As part of its broader mission to support the professional development of Filipinos overseas, UAP Qatar is also actively collaborating with the Philippine Professional Organization in Qatar (PPOQ) and other partner agencies in preparation for the upcoming Special Professional Licensure Examination (SPLE) in 2025. These coordinated efforts aim to ensure a seamless and efficient process for aspiring architects, continuing UAP Qatar’s legacy of service and advocacy within the Filipino community.
