United Architects of the Philippines Qatar Chapter: April 2025 Highlights

In April 2025, the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) Qatar Chapter demonstrated strong leadership, professional growth, and international collaboration through a series of impactful events and milestones. On April 2, 2025, the chapter held a Pre-Election Meeting at The Hub, Royal Plaza, where Architect Melanie Ramos was appointed Chairperson of the Election Committee and Architect Lena Quinito presented nomination guidelines as Head of the Nominations Committee, ensuring a transparent and participatory electoral process.


From April 7 to 12, 2025, UAP Qatar participated in the 50th UAP National Convention (NATCON 50) held at the SMX Convention Center in Manila, Philippines, under the theme “Borderless,” which emphasized global collaboration and architectural innovation. The delegation included Chapter President Architect Jayson Z. Santos, External Affairs Head Architect D. Pascual, and several past presidents and members residing in the Philippines. During the convention, UAP Qatar was honored with several national recognitions, including the Outstanding New Member Award for Architect Rogelio A. Alaba Jr., the Outstanding Current Member Award for Architect Leah DC Bianan, and the prestigious title of Outstanding Chapter (Foreign), Group 1.


Simultaneously, on April 7, 2025, UAP Qatar representatives Architects Randee, Leah, and Joan attended the 4th Regular Monthly Meeting of the Philippine Professional Organization – Qatar (PPOQ) at The Hub, Royal Plaza. The meeting focused on preparations for the Special Professional Licensure Examination (SPLE) 2025 and aligned various initiatives to strengthen the Filipino professional community in Qatar.


On April 25, 2025, the chapter concluded the month with its 8th General Membership Meeting and CPD Seminar Workshop titled “Technology Transfer 3: MS Excel at Work + Contract Preparation Workshop” held at Shaza Doha Hotel in a hybrid format. The seminar, led by Architect Miluna Alegada, provided hands-on training in Microsoft Excel and contract preparation, equipping members with essential tools for effective architectural practice and project management.


Through these events, UAP Qatar highlighted its dedication to professional excellence, member empowerment, and the advancement of Filipino architects abroad.
